It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Anne “Chick” Reid Horne Manfredi, on August 15, 2025, at the age of 83 at Aegis on Greenwood after suffering from a stroke.

Anne was born March 21, 1942, to Dr. Robert and Jean Horne. She attended Skaneateles Central Schools and went on to study for a nursing career, where she worked in a variety of settings. She married Eugene Manfredi and moved to San Diego when he enlisted in the Navy. Upon his return from Vietnam, they moved to Seattle, WA.

Anne loved animals and often trained other people’s dogs. They knew her as a competent and successful trainer. She loved gardening and writing stories about her life experiences. Anne will be known by her smile and hospitality. She always reached out to people, making them feel welcome, whether it was in her apartment or in the Assisted Living Facility. She made friends easily and greeted her table-mates at the Aegis Assisted Living with “hello girls!" Despite her health and mobility challenges, she continued to keep a positive attitude. The staff loved “Chick” as they fondly called her and said she willingly participated in activities from movies, games, and outings in the community.

She was devoted to her Catholic faith. Before her health declined, she was a daily mass attendee at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, as a member of the choir, the Pro-Life group Sancta Vita, the Altar Society, and helped with food preparation for the parish’s Angel’s Café brunch.

She is survived by her siblings Robert Horne of Boonville, MO, Mary Pura (Tom) of Danbury, CT, Margaret Osborne (Bruce), and Bennet Horne, both of Skaneateles, NY, as well as her niece, nephews, great nieces, many friends and exemplary friends and honorary sister Mary Pat O’Leary. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eugene T. Manfredi, son Christopher Thomas Manfredi, sister-in-law Lucille Horne and stepmother Dorothy Horne.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church, Skaneateles on Monday, September 15th at 10 am. Internment will take place immediately following in St. Mary’s Cemetery. All are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers we suggest a donation in Chick’s name to your favorite charity. To send condolences, visit: robertdgrayfuneralhome.com.
