Anne Margaret (Dooher) Lynn

2/2/25

Anne Margaret (Dooher) Lynn, of Skaneateles, New York, passed on from this earth on February 2, 2025, in her Naples home, surrounded by loving family, enjoying the view of her final sunsets.

She lived a long, beautiful life. She and her husband, Bill, raised six children, who in turn gave her 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She and Bill celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, before he passed on ahead of her, on November 11, 2020.

Anne, first born child of Margaret and George Dooher, grew up in the Tipperary Hill neighborhood in Syracuse, along with her four siblings. She was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School (class of 1955) and LeMoyne College (class of 1960).

She spent a lifetime gathering family together for events and holidays, adding grace, thoughtfulness, and beauty and to each and every occasion. She embraced living life to the fullest, and enjoyed many years of social gatherings, bridge, golf, book clubs, concerts, shows and lectures, with her friends in Skaneateles and Naples. Even in her final year of life, she remained an active member of the Skaneateles Country Club and Vineyards Country Club in Naples. This past fall, she played her final bridge games in Skaneateles with her two long- standing bridge groups, including the not-to-be-forgotten “Mixed Nuts."

She was also very involved in the horse breeding and racing business she shared with her husband Bill. Her finest legacy is her family, whom she loved and cherished. Her grandchildren received not only her love and attention, but her fierce support, pride in all achievements, and presence at events and milestones, large and small. She led by example with her Catholic faith. She taught her family that one of the most important gifts they can give to one another is to “show up” always, especially when needed.

Anne is survived by daughters, Patricia Lynn-Ford (Steven Ford) and Theresa Lynn (Alan Sahatjian), sons, William (Jeanette Lombardi), Thomas (Leslie), Timothy (Cynthia) and Martin (Tara), grandchildren, Daniel Ford (Olivia), Eileen Ford, Emma Ford, Abigail Lynn, Katherine Lynn, Aubreah Lynn, Fallon Lynn, Andrew Sahatjian, William Sahatjian, Steven Sahatjian, Joseph Lynn, Sarah Lynn, John Lynn, Mary Grace Lynn, Casey Lynn, Anne Lynn, Luke Lynn, Dawson Lynn, William Lynn, Jane Lynn and George (“Duke”) Lynn, and great grandchildren, Harper Nolan and Anastasia Ford, brothers Michael Dooher and George Dooher, and many nieces and nephews, friends and relations.

She was predeceased by her brother, James Dooher and sister, Sara (Dooher) Edick.

Calling hours will be held at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church on Thursday, February 6th, from 4 until 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s on Friday, February 7th at 10 am.

Anne and I graduated from St. Patrick’s High School together (in 1956) and being the modern teens that we were -BFF- long before there even were BFF. Not living on the Hill, I spent many lunch hours at the Dooher home . If I remember correctly, she was born the day before I was (July 30 for her and July 31 for me. Unfortunately , our FF was not meant to be and we lost touch.

Reading Anne’s obiturary readily confirms she fulfilled the full and meaningful life she was always destined to achieve.

I shared her 1960 graduating class at LeMoyne. She was a beautiful women, inside and out and a brilliant scholar. I have known Anne and Bill for many, many years and I have always had a great deal of affection and respect for both of them. I shall not forget either of them anytime soon. May God bless them and their exceptional family now and always. Dick Lynch
