Barbara J. Carr
9/13/26

Barbara J. Carr, 64 of Skaneateles, NY passed away peacefully on September 13, 2026.
Barbara was a fiercely independent woman who lived her life surrounded by the things she loved. Her greatest being her cats. She had a special connection with them and a heart that seemed to have a little extra room for every cat she met. Her many hobbies included kayaking, taking beautiful photographs of nature and cheering on the Bills. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed attending concerts with friends. Barbara loved to volunteer at the Skaneateles Car Show and attend the NASCAR race at Watkins Glen.
In her 25 years working at Dave Pirro Ford, Barb dedicated much of her life to her job and became a familiar face to so many people. Her years there were an important part of her life and testament to her loyalty and dedication. Her coworkers were more than just people she worked alongside-they became her Dave Pirro Ford family, a special part of her life that she cherished.
Barbara is survived by several half nieces and nephews, her dear friend Christina Bennett, and her beloved Dave Pirro Ford family. She will be remembered for her love of cats, her appreciation for music and photography, her enjoyment of bowling, and the unique personality that made her who she was. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A Graveside Service will be held Thursday September 17th at 11 am at Thorn Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CNY Cat Coalition in Barbara’s memory.

I am certainly saddened to hear of a fellow schoolmate passing, but am comforted to know she had a loving supportive family (related and not related) in her adult life. I knew Barb best in grade school, riding the bus together and in other local activities. I have over the decades wondered about her but had not learned anything at reunions etc. My condolences to her loved ones.
