After 83 years of living a long, beautiful life, Dave left this world on Thursday, October 2, 2025 to begin his next journey.  He recently said that he wanted to skydive one more time in his life because he so loved the excitement of falling through the clouds. It was an experience that he had cherished in this life and he is  now surrounded by that beauty and the freedom to “fly” unrestricted by earthly pain.  He loved the Adirondacks. Always enjoying the beauty of the mountains and the lakes. Dave loved the martial arts and enjoyed learning about many of the different styles of training. He was an avid reader and got lost in a good book for hours. Another love was cooking - he was a true chef, always searching for new recipes. A little of this, a little of that was the way he cooked. He experimented in the kitchen and he showed love to his people by “feeding them.” Chess was a passion of his.  He studied the game and the chess board was always set up in our home ready to challenge his son, grandchildren, his dear friend Ryan and anyone who loved the game.  Family was everything to Dave. There was not a day that his heart was not full of thoughts of his family.

He had a long, fulfilling career, beginning as a CPA at Price Waterhouse which led to becoming President/CEO of two major distributors of food products and electrical technology, just to name a few. Dave liked to keep busy.

Dave is survived by his wife, Kathy, son Matthew and his partner Quinn, Matt’s two children, Alice and Atticus; daughter Chloe and wife, Carley, and their son Jayce. A brother, Paul, his wife, Patty and their family; a sister, Patty, her husband, Jamie and their family, cousins Cheryl Hereth and family, Cindy Breeze and family and the cousin’s mom, Julie Brown. Dave now joins Julie’s husband, Barry, who Dave loved.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, October 10th at 10 am at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church, Skaneateles. Burial will be private with a luncheon at the Parish Center immediately following the service.
