It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis B. Dundon, 80, in his home in Skaneateles, NY Thursday, October 30, 2025.

He was born December 7, 1944 in Troy, NY, the son of Thomas Dundon and Dorothy Dundon.

Dennis graduated from Troy High School in 1962. He received his undergraduate, B.S. from Clarkson University in 1966, where he was in the Pi Delta Epsilon fraternity and Phalanx honorary society. He earned his masters in business administration at the University of Rochester in 1978, and was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma fraternity.

After his graduation from college, he entered the United States Navy and trained aboard the USS Gearing (DD-710) before he served proudly in Newport, Rhode Island, Athens, Georgia, and aboard the USS Dealey (DE-1006) – the lead ship in her destroyer escort class. After qualifying in both the supply corps and through the cryptographic operations course, he served as a lieutenant on the Dealy and traveled on the ship around the globe from January 1968 until October 1969.

He was honorably discharged and earned the National Defense Service Medal.

In civilian life, he excelled as a team leader in the telecommunications industry with several companies, including Rochester Telephone, rising to President and CEO of EMI Communications, and Area Operation Manager at Windstream.

Beyond his work in the private sector, Dennis believed in continued public service to his country being essential, especially at the local level. He cherished his time and relationships within the Village and Town of Skaneateles and with its elected officials and board members over many years.

He loved Skaneateles Lake, was a member of the Skaneateles Country Club and Skaneateles American legion Post 239. His work over his career and life touched many lives and people, creating lasting relationships with people in the Skaneateles community, the equestrian world, and the telecom industry.

Dennis enjoyed reading, golfing, traveling with his family to Vermont, Maine, and Folly Beach, South Carolina.

He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years Barbara Dundon, his stepdaughter Sarah Condon-Meyers and son-in-law Ben Meyers; his son Matthew and daughter-in-law Heidi Dundon, and grandson Logan Dundon.

Following Dennis’ wishes, services will be private, with a celebration of life at a later date.
