Jill Newton, 82, of Skaneateles, NY, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on October 13, 2026. She was also affectionately known as “Jillsy,” “Gammy,” Sissy,” “The Madam,” and “Madam Park.”

Jill graduated from Chief Logan High School in Lewistown, PA. She then went on to become a Registered Dental Hygienist after attending the University of Pennsylvania, where she met the love of her life.

Jill is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Newt; her children, Maggie (Mark) and Andy (Kristi); her siblings, George, Dan, and Maryanne (Illeana); her nephews, Brett, Jonathan, Joe, Liam, Jason, and her favorite niece, Adrian. She is predeceased by her parents, Roland and Peg Martin, and her son-in-law, Peter Thomson.

Her greatest joys were her five grandchildren: Greg (Lianna), Drew, Grant, Molly (Marc), and Maggie, as well as one great- grandchild, Palmer.

Her family was the most important thing in her life. She always made everything so special!

Jill resided in Skaneateles for 61 years. She was an active volunteer in her community. She served on the Village Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, Austin Park Development Chair, Skaneantics, Meals on Wheels, and the Draft Board. Jill was a wonderful cook, water colorist and Master Gardener. She had a green thumb that was the envy of many. Her kind and gentle spirit and the way she made people feel is what her family is most proud of.
