Lori J. Prego
9/25/26
Lori J. Prego (Yongsma) of Skaneateles, NY, passed away peacefully in her dreams on September 25, 2026, at the age of 72.
Lori was born on March 17, 1954, in Worcester, Massachusetts, to Boyen and Faith Yongsma. She spent nearly 30 years as the office manager of Central New York Heating and Cooling/Empire Mechanical, working alongside her former husband of over 35 years, Michael Prego Sr.
Lori spent many years as a dedicated hockey mom, proudly cheering on and supporting each of her three sons as their #1 fan. She had a deep affection for all of her pets throughout the years, especially her golden retriever Sadie. Lori was known for her caring, gentle nature and the love she so freely gave to those around her.
Above all else, Lori treasured being a loving “Gigi” to her two wonderful grandsons, Michael Prego III and John Prego Jr. They brought her tremendous joy and were a cherished part of her life.
Lori was predeceased by her parents, Boyen and Faith Yongsma, and her son, Matthew Prego, with whom she will be laid to rest.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Michael Prego Jr. and John Prego (Christine Gorman); her beloved grandsons, Michael Prego III and John Prego Jr.; her brother, Steven Yongsma (Dee); her nieces, Amy Lopez (Hugo) and Jessica Yongsma; and many other dear friends and family members whose lives she touched.
A celebration of Lori’s life will take place at The Sherwood Inn in Skaneateles on Wednesday, October 14th from 4-7 pm.
Lori will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
