Marion “Peg” Brown passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. She was 95. Peg graduated from Skaneateles High School and went on to finish her education at RIT. She worked several years in Skaneateles as a book keeper at Hahn’s Pharmacy, and the Skaneateles Village and Town offices.
She enjoyed serving the Skaneateles community. Peg joined the Skaneateles Firemen’s Ladies Auxiliary in 1955 where she served as President, VP, Treasurer and Secretary. She always enjoyed marching in the parades and running the loan closet. She was a charter member of SAVES. A member, Financial Secretary and past President of Central N.Y.’s Firemen’s Auxiliary and member of Onondaga Co. Volunteer Fireman’s Auxiliary.
In 1995 she was named Citizen of the Year by the Skaneateles Area Chamber of Commerce for her volunteer work in Skaneateles. She enjoyed traveling (especially her trip to Ireland), swimming, reading and knitting.
She was pre deceased by her husband, Fred Brown, and sister Jane Dove. She’s survived by her daughters: Debra Masoud (Bader), Diane Salvati (Jon) and Gail Coleman (Ron), six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, niece and nephews
Calling hours will be held at Robert D. Gray Funeral Home, 49 Jordan St., Skaneateles from 5 pm to 7 pm on Tuesday, May 26.
Mass will be held 10 am Wednesday, May 27 at St. Mary’s of the Lake, 10 West Austin St., Skaneateles. Interment immediately following at Lakeview Cemetery on West Genesee St., Skaneateles.

Di and Jon, So sorry to read about your Mom this morning on Facebook. This is a sad time for you but you were very lucky to have her in your life for many years. You certainly have many great memories and cherish them forever. Our thoughts are with you.
i met peg in 1972 she was one of the nicest ladies i will ever know so devoted to her family and her community while raising her girls she was very active in many orginazations we had great fun on monday nites at auxillary she never said no to whatever the need was i loved peg and i was all the better for knowing her so many loved peg and will miss her thankyou to her family for sharing her god bless
Peg was a patient at Skaneateles Dental. I was her hygienist for many years and she became a great friend. Even after my retirement she kept in touch. She was a wonderful person and friend to all. My deepest sympathy for your loss.
