Phillip Haines, 57, died peacefully Thursday, June 4th, surrounded by his family. A lifelong resident of the hamlet of Borodino, Phil’s love of community was only surpassed by his love for his family. Phil and his brother Brad were co-owners of Borotek, a local excavation company. He also partnered with his brothers Brad and Kevin to form Boroland Farm. A mechanical genius, he could find or create parts to repair almost anything. Growing up on a farm instilled in Phil a strong work ethic and deep connection to his family heritage. He spent the last day of his life doing what he loved, raking and baling hay with his brothers.
Phil is survived by his loving wife Adrienne, and his two amazing sons, Travis and Simon, whom he loved more than life. He is also survived by his parents, Richard and Janet Haines, siblings Jeffrey (Tina) Haines, Audrey (Kevin) Misiano, Kevin (Christie) Haines, and Bradley Haines. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews as well as a wide circle of lifelong friends.
Phil worked a lifetime caring for and serving others. He served in the Borodino Fire Department for many years, including 10 years as the president. In his final selfless act, Phil donated his organs so that others could live.
In lieu of flowers, Phil’s family asks that you consider donating to the boy's future education and family expenses. To donate, please use this GoFundMe.
