Richard Garrick Ralph, Born November 17, 1935 in Syracuse, NY. passed away peacefully on October 27, 2026. He was married to the love of his life, Lynn for almost 49 years. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his father, Charles Ralph.

He was the proud father of Brian C. Ralph, (Kristen) of Garner, North Carolina, Chris D. Ralph, (Gina) of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and Kevin T. Ralph (Michelle) of Jamesville, New York.

Poppa of Abby (husband Tyler), Eden, and Izzy Ralph (parents Brian & Kristen); Timothy and Megan Ralph (parents Chris & Gina), and Jonathan & Matthew Ralph (parents Kevin and Michelle).

He was a selfless, devoted husband, an incredibly dedicated father, and an outstanding professional and civic leader. He had a very successful career in the financial services industry, eventually becoming a Senior Vice President and Financial Advisor for Smith Barney and UBS. He served his country in the US Army, 1957-1963 (active duty and reserves), was a past President and member of the Bond Club of Syracuse, as well as civic leader for the Citizens Foundation, American Heart Association and member of the Board of Directors of the Onondaga Pastoral Counseling Center. He was a long-time member of the Skaneateles Country Club, American Legion, Skaneateles Rotary Club and Syracuse Executives. He served as an Elder at First Presbyterian Church in Skaneateles and as a member of the Finance Committee.

Richard was adopted at a very young age by Charles Ralph and was forever grateful for the man who took him in and gave him a chance. And he took advantage of that chance. He graduated from Syracuse University and cheered the Orange on whenever he could - and in many cases with his sons by his side. He continued his education at Columbia University in New York with a certificate in Finance. He was a dedicated father who stood on many sidelines and bleachers in support of his children. He modeled hard work and how to love your wife well, and never took anything for granted. He was a lover of golf and wine, but never mixed the two (although he would have argued it could have helped his golf game later in life).

Richard was known for his love of people. It showed in his work and in his life, and many of his closest friends were the result of the intersection of his passion for his work and people. He was generous with his love and resources - friends and family alike will miss him deeply.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 5th from 5 to 7 pm at Robert D. Gray Funeral Home, Skaneateles. Funeral service is private.

Contributions in his honor can be made to the American Legion of Skaneateles or First Presbyterian Church of Skaneateles.
