Susan Alice Young, age 79 of Jordan, New York, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2025 at the Commons in Auburn, New York.

Susan Alice (Murphy) Young, daughter of William and Elizabeth Murphy, was born on November 29, 1946 in Syracuse, New York.

Susan grew up in Jordan, New York and graduated from Jordan-Elbridge High School. After receiving her Master's Degree from Syracuse University, she taught for two years in Solvay. Susan then came back and taught at Jordan Elementary School where she taught until she retired in 2008.

Susan loved to fish, knit, quilt, garden and swim but she was always the lifeguard! Susan grew up and had a camp on Cross Lake. Susan and David were married on December 18, 1971 and had two boys, David and Michael.

Susan is preceded in death by her father and mother. She is survived by her husband David of 54 years, son David (Leah) of Honeyoe Lake, Michael (Jennifer) Herman of Minnesota, sister Maryjane (David) and grandchildren; River, Lila, Luke, Nathan, Benjamin and Seth.

Funeral will be held in the Spring/Summer of 2026. Donations can be made to the Jordan Historical Society.
