Wilfred Crary, age 96, a longtime resident of Mottville, New York, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 18, 2026, one day shy of his 97th birthday, leaving behind a long life defined by service, family, and steadfast values.
Wilfred was born on January 19, 1929 to Fay and Marie Crary of Sennett. Wilfred was a member of the Moose Club, the Eagles Club, and the American Legion in Skaneateles Falls. He worked many years for Don Clark Heating in Skaneateles. In his early years he loved to travel with his wife, camping, fishing, and searching for collectibles out in nature.
Wilfred proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, a commitment that reflected his deep sense of duty and love of country. That same dedication carried through every aspect of his life, his work, his family, and the way he treated others.
A man of quiet strength and steady character, Wilfred believed in showing up, working hard, and doing right by those around him. He lived by example, passing down values of integrity, perseverance, and kindness to generations of his family.
Above all else, Wilfred was a devoted family man. He took great pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and nothing brought him more joy than time spent with them. His stories, gentle humor, and calm presence will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
Wilfred is survived by his loving children: Roxanne Soprano (Steve), Michael Crary (Cathy), and Cindy Deacy (Richard); six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry his legacy forward.
Wilfred will be remembered not only for the years he lived, but for the life he built and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 22nd, 2026 from 4-6 pm at Robert D. Gray Funeral Home, Skaneateles. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 23rd, 2026 at 10 am at the funeral home. Wilfred will be buried, alongside his wife Priscilla, at Lake View Cemetery, Skaneateles.
